Materials & quality
Clear descriptions. Considered choices. Know the material behind the finish.
Explore the collections
Start with a collection, then check the exact material and components on each product page.
- Gold — Check the stated gold fineness or gold-coloured surface finish.
- Titanium — Compare material details, finish and dimensions.
- Diamonds — Explore lab-created diamond designs and check the metal used for each piece.
- Essentials — Check included components, connection type and size.
A gold piece with lab-created diamonds can appear in both Gold and Diamonds.
Know what you are choosing
Read the material, finish, stone and component details together. A decorative attachment and its post can be made from different materials. Gold colour alone does not identify solid gold, and a stone’s appearance does not establish its origin.
Titanium and ASTM F136
ASTM F136 specifies wrought titanium–6 aluminium–4 vanadium ELI alloy for surgical implant applications. A claim of compliance needs supporting documentation that can be connected to the relevant material. It is not a blanket certificate for every item sold under a brand.
Solid gold and surface finishes
Look for a stated gold fineness when choosing solid gold. A PVD finish is a surface treatment applied to a base material; it is not another name for solid gold. Check the product’s material and finish fields separately.
Lab-created diamonds
Laboratory-grown diamonds have essentially the same chemical, physical and optical properties as natural diamonds, with a laboratory origin. They are distinct from diamond simulants such as cubic zirconia. The stone description on each product identifies what is offered.
Certificates and test reports
A laboratory report describes the sample and tests identified in that document. It does not automatically establish the composition, manufacturing quality or suitability of every finished piece. When asking about a report, include the exact product so its scope can be checked.
Fit and construction matter
Material is one part of choosing jewellery. Connection type, surface finish and dimensions matter too. A professional piercer can help select jewellery for your anatomy and stage of healing.
Materials documentation
Example gold composition test
A supplier’s sample report records gold (Au) at 75.65%, measured using ISO 23345:2021. That result applies to the one sample identified in the report.
The source document is marked SAMPLE. It is not a Hiberna certificate, and no connection between the tested sample and a Hiberna product or batch has been established. Its result must not be extended to other pieces.
Titanium material documentation
The first page of a supplier’s material document identifies ASTM F136 titanium round bar. It records aluminium at 6.06% and vanadium at 4.12% by weight for that material.
This is a raw-material record, not a certificate for finished jewellery. The issuer’s details are obscured in the source copy. No connection to a Hiberna product or batch has been established, and the results do not describe every titanium item.
These are factual summaries of source documents, not certificates issued by Hiberna. For a product-specific documentation question, include the product name when contacting us.
