Frequently asked questions
The details that help you choose the right piece.
Choosing a piece
Does an attachment include a post?
An attachment is the decorative end. When a product is labelled “attachment only”, its post or bar is not included. Check the product’s included components and choose a compatible post separately.
Am I buying one piece or a pair?
Check the quantity stated on the product page. A single piece means one item; a pair means two. Product photographs may show styling combinations and do not establish the quantity included.
What is the difference between threaded and threadless jewellery?
A threaded attachment screws into a compatible post. A threadless attachment uses a pin and a press-fit connection, without screw threads. Match the connection shown in the product specifications; the two systems are not interchangeable.
Will this attachment fit my existing post?
Match the connection type and the specified thread or pin compatibility. Matching the post gauge alone does not confirm that the attachment will fit. If either specification is missing, ask us before ordering and include the product name and your existing post details.
Measurements & fit
What does gauge mean?
Gauge describes the thickness of the part that passes through the piercing. It is separate from post length, ring diameter and decorative-end size. Compare the millimetre measurement in the product specifications with a size confirmed by your piercer.
How do I choose the correct post length?
Use the wearable length, excluding the decorative end and backing. Start with the measurements of jewellery that already fits comfortably, or ask your piercer to measure the fit. See our measurement guide.
How is a ring or clicker measured?
A circular ring’s size is its internal diameter: the distance across the empty centre, from inner edge to inner edge. Gauge describes the metal thickness. Shaped clickers may have separate internal height and width measurements; check their individual diagram.
Can I choose a size from the piercing name alone?
No. The same piercing placement can need different sizes on different people. Anatomy, placement and the jewellery design affect fit. A styling photograph is not a sizing guide.
Is every piece suitable for a new piercing?
Suitability depends on the exact material, finish, construction, size and your piercing. Ask a qualified piercer to select and fit jewellery for a new or healing piercing. A material name alone cannot establish suitability for every person or placement.
Can I use the photograph to judge the size?
Product photographs are not shown at actual size. Check the stated millimetre dimensions, including the decorative end, and use our measurement guide before choosing.
Materials & stones
Are lab-created diamonds natural diamonds?
No. Lab-created diamonds are grown in a laboratory. They have essentially the same chemical, physical and optical properties as natural diamonds, but a different origin. We describe them as lab-created or laboratory-grown; check each product for its stated stone type.
Is a gold-coloured finish the same as solid gold?
No. Solid-gold jewellery has a stated gold fineness. PVD describes a surface-coating process and does not mean that the jewellery is solid gold. Check both the base material and finish on the product page.
What does ASTM F136 mean?
ASTM F136 is a specification for a titanium alloy used in surgical implant applications. The name of the standard alone does not certify an individual item. Read our materials and quality guide for how to interpret material claims and supporting reports.
Orders & delivery
What should I check before placing an order?
Confirm the selected material, finish, stone, connection, gauge, length or internal diameter, and included quantity. Check whether the item is an attachment only. Review your delivery address and the total at checkout before paying.
How much is delivery in Ireland?
Delivery within Ireland is €5.95, with free delivery on orders of €75 or more. Check the delivery option and final total displayed at checkout before completing your order. See our delivery information.
Can I return or exchange my jewellery?
Check the current returns policy before ordering, especially for sizing and hygiene conditions. For help with an order or a faulty item, contact us with your order number and the product details. Do not send an item back until you have the return instructions.
